Jennifer Marvel, Executive Director
With her passion for placemaking and her background in marketing and social media Ms. Marvel has helped craft the stories of the people, businesses and events that define the APGD brand and that have made her district a nationally recognized ‘must see’ part of Central Florida.
Since becoming director, memberships for the Audubon Park Garden District have grown an average of 34% each year, Facebook and Twitter followers have increased an average of 66% each year and programming has increased 400%. In the past two years the Audubon Park Garden District has been written about by the New York Times, New York magazine, Southern Living magazine, USA Today, Virgin Atlantic and many others. Most recently the Audubon Park Garden District was named a semifinalist in the 2016 Great American Main Street Awards.
A community activist and one the founding members of APGD, she served on the board and committees prior to becoming Executive Director. Since becoming director she continues to strengthen her skills at the Rollins College Philanthropy Center, with certificates in Branding for Nonprofits, Volunteer Management and Grant Writing and will complete her Certificate in Nonprofit Management by the end of the year. Ms. Marvel graduated summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in History.
